Cursing/Swearing
Swearing at someone in Qatar is also against the law, so keep your cool and don’t use that filthy mouth of yours – you might get into a lot of trouble!
Being Drunk
Getting drunk in public is punishable by law, and could result in a fine, imprisonment or deportation. In 99.9% of cases everything will be okay, but you must remain cautious nonetheless. Whenever leaving a venue, always take a taxi instead of walking – and whatever you do, never drink and drive (not even one sip). There is zero tolerance for this offense here, so it’s simply not worth the risk to yours or others’ lives.
Photography
The acceptable limits of photography for non-Muslims are the same as for Muslims. However, photographing Muslim women is considered inappropriate. It’s also polite to seek permission before taking photos of males. Photographs of government buildings, mosques, or military installations should not be taken unless authorized by the appropriate authorities.

If you are a woman and meet a Qatar National or Arab man, do not offer to shake his hand unless he extends his hand towards you first.

You don’t need to dress like a local or cover your head if you’re not Muslim, but it might be wise to wear a hat in the heat!

“Attitudes towards dress in Qatar are relaxed, but visitors (men as well as women) are expected to show respect for the local culture by avoiding excessively revealing clothing in public. It is generally recommended for men and women to ensure their shoulders and knees are covered.”
Furthermore, Article 57 of the constitution states:
“The respect of the Constitution, compliance with the laws issued by Public Authority, abiding by public order and morality, observing national traditions and established customs is a duty of all who reside in the State of Qatar or enter its territory.“
There are some places where the rules are much stricter regarding what you can wear. For example, if you want to enter a mosque, you will need to be fully covered.
If you are ever challenged about your outfit by security or anyone else, don’t argue. Instead, apologize and move on.
Can you wear shorts in Qatar?
Men are not allowed to wear shorts in public places in Qatar. This includes places like shopping malls, restaurants, and parks. However, it is perfectly fine to wear shorts at private residences or on the beach.
Can unmarried couples stay in hotels in Qatar?

As long as you are cautious and have a clear story, you will be okay. Western travelers have helped Doha become one of the most beloved travel destinations, so some of the older rules are not strictly enforced.
