Te Amo, Mi Amor

If you’re looking to get away with your honey to an exclusive adults-only spa retreat, then look no further than Mi Amor Hotel & Spa in Tulum,  Mexico.  Overlooking the Caribbean sea on the Yucatan Peninsula, Mi Amor Hotel offers endless panoramic views. 

I first landed on this hotel searching for couples-only retreats in Tulum and Mi Amor did not disappoint. Mi Amor Colibri Boutique hotel is a “Love Chic” hotel that has bagged the  Tripadvisors 2018 Travelers choice award for being one of the top 25 hotels in Mexico for Romance and Service.  Can it get any better than that? I think not! This was going to be our first time in Mexico and we wanted to make sure we spent some quality time in each other’s arms.

| THE ENTRANCE |

With its boho-chic vibes, the entrance is sure to set the mood for the rest of your stay.  Surrounded by beautiful orchids, the entrance opens up to an open concept lounge area.

| LOUNGE AND POOL AREA |

The concept of the lounge and pool area is very well thought out.  This is divided into two sections.  One area allows you to lounge on a bed built over the pool and the other area is of the infinity pool overlooking the ocean.  They also have a lounge egg swing that you can sit on for hours gazing at the ocean.  The space is surrounded by travelers’ palms and other foliage that makes you feel so zen. The contemporary design and its simplicity add to the romance.

| OUR BEDROOM |

There are so many rooms to choose from.  From seafront view to jungle view, however,  we opted for the garden view with a plunge pool which still had open views of the ocean.  The minimalist bohemian theme continued in the room and the best part was the constellation lights in the room.  If you’re an avid stargazer, then you’ll certainly enjoy this added feature to the room.

| PATIO AREA with PLUNGE POOL |

The patio consists of two lounge chairs with a table perfect for sipping morning coffee while watching the birds welcome sunrise.  Around the corner, you’ll find your own private plunge pool with another egg lounge chair.

| THE SPA |

The best part of the stay is the spa.  Mi Amor has so many different options to choose from.  They have individual and couples massages, facial treatments, body exfoliations, rituals, healing baths, and romantic treatments.  Our favorite is the healing bath consisting of herbs, fruits, and flowers.  If the hotel itself isn’t zen enough for you, then the spa can definitely calm your senses with the special treatments that they have to offer.

| RESTAURANT & BAR |

The restaurant also has a very spacious, open concept.  Effortless chic is what I call it due to its elegant and contemporary design.  Quaint rustic tables laden with fresh flowers each day sets a romantic tone for the rest of your day.  The menu features delicious ensembles inspired by French and Italian cuisine.  Looking for fun and inviting cocktails, well look no further than the famous mixologist Jasper Soffer’s creations.  Soffer had won the Best Mojito award for Colibri Hotels at the Rum Trade Festival held in Tulum in March 2015.

| HOTEL GROUNDS |

On the hotel grounds ocean side, you’ll find these beautiful open but secluded cabanas that look out into the azure waters of the Caribbean.  The views will have you in a trance.   You can spend your mornings having breakfast here or watch the sunset in each other’s arms and welcome the starry skies.

P.S Beach towels are provided and the staff is at your service whenever you need anything.

Choosing to stay at Mi Amor Hotel & Spa was an overall rejuvenating experience.  Mi Amor Hotel is great especially for couples but adults with children over 16 are also welcome.  This is a lovely romantic hotel where you get enough time to bond with your special someone, especially to ignite or reignite that love between the two of you.   This was in our experience, elegant luxury at its finest.
