Getting There

A car will not be needed while you’re traveling around Tokyo, and Japan in general. Japan’s rapid train system is well-connected and can help you get around more efficiently than a vehicle unless you’ll be exploring off-the-beaten-path locations.

The train system can seem a little confusing and daunting in the beginning but once you understand that the different lines are color-coordinated, trains will be your go-to! You can arrange with the hotel for pick-up at Tokyo Station prior to your arrival.

Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo also offers its guests limousine bus service, the express train and hotel limousine pick-up.

The Hotel

Named Five Star Hotel by Forbes Travel Guide and awarded the best Hotel in Japan by Tripadvisor “Travelers’ Choice Hotel Awards,” Shangri-La Tokyo has a lot to offer its patrons.  As soon as you walk in the door, you’ll know why Shangri-La Tokyo is so revered.

The hotel has a dreamy architecture with timeless glamour and charm.  The hotel is located within the mixed-use Marunouchi Trust Tower Main Building.  Of the 37 floors, it occupies the top 11 floors.  Check-in is on the 28th floor and for a more exclusive check-in, you can check out the Horizon Lounge Club on the 37th floor.

Exploring on foot is both fun and convenient.  You will find the Imperial Palace in just a 10-minute walk from the hotel.  If you’re into luxury or designer goods then head over to the world-famous Ginza shopping district.  If you’re more of an adventurer, then take a 20-minute train ride to Asakusa Senso-ji Temple or explore Tokyo Disneyland /DisneySea.

When you are ready to get off your feet and rest your paws, there’s plenty to do inside. The Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo has an award-winning spa called Chi with Tibetan influences and a private nail salon called LUXITA where you can get specialized Japanese hand-painted art.  You can also utilize their Health Club which has a gym, pool, jacuzzi, and saunas.
